Easy Headscarf Roll Hair Style

Tools & Supplies:
1 bandanna or small headscarf // 1 hair-tie // small elastic for roll // dry shampoo // teasing comb // hairspray
Method:
Steps 1-3: Start off with ‘old’ hair (or spray on some dry shampoo to add some texture and grip), and tease your crown a bit for some added lift if you wish. (1) Pull all your hair directly back away from your head and tie a hair-tie securely a couple inches from the end. (2) Roll up your bandanna or headscarf tightly, and put a little elastic around the middle if you’re just beginning, this will keep it from unrolling on you. (3) Tuck the hair-tie over the bandanna once…
Steps 4-6: …and begin rolling towards your head, (4) not worrying too much about how loose the sides look, because you’ll take care of those in a minute! (5) Once you reach the base of your neck with your roll of hair, tie the bandanna off-centered, and (6) use your fingers to comb the hair on the sides over the bandanna and tuck inside.
Steps 7-9: (7) Do this all the way around, and use a two way mirror if needed to see the back. At this point you can leave it looking tidy and sleek, (8) or you can start tugging your hair out a bit at your crown, from the roll itself, (9) at your temples, along your hair line, etc for a more relaxed and effortless look. Give it a little spritz of hairspray if you’d like, and you’re all good to go!

22 Year Old OAU’s best graduating student says he doesn’t cram

Ademola Oridate, who emerged the overall best graduating students in 2012/2013 session. Both obtained Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.88. See excerpts from his interview with Punch below:
Who is Ademola Oridate?
I am a 22-year-old Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. I am an indigene of Ogun State. I have eight half-siblings and a brother. I am the last child of the family. My dad is late.
image
Did that background have any effect on your studies?
Yes, my family background affected me positively. I am lucky to have come from a well-educated family. They have been 100 per cent supportive in the course of my academic career. They made sure I attended the best schools and gave me all the needed support morally and financially. In addition to that, all my siblings are graduates, so I had so many role models ahead of me.
Why did you study Mechanical Engineering?
While I was in secondary school, I found out that I had an unexplainable love for the principle of the operation behind mechanisms and machines. So, when it was time to fill my Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination form, I knew what I wanted. In addition to that, I knew one of my strong points was the ability to reason analytically, so I believed I was going to excel in any engineering field. My dad actually wanted me be a medical doctor but I made him realise that engineering was what I wanted. I strongly believe we will record more academic and career success stories if people make choices based on their areas of strength.
How did you find the course?
I found Mechanical Engineering quite interesting, thanks to my strength in logical/analytical thinking. Though there were challenging moments mostly due to the volume of materials we were required to study, it just meant devoting more time to my study.
What were the challenges you faced?
One major challenge was the volume of course works. Any engineering student can attest to that. Sometimes when you see the volume of what you have to read before the end of the semester, you start wondering if you can accomplish such a task even if you deny yourself sleep till the end of the semester. The incessant Academic Staff Union of Universities strikes even made matters worse. Some semesters had to be shortened, which made it more challenging. In addition to that, some engineering concepts require a great deal of time to comprehend.
How were you able to cope with the challenges?
Two things that helped me were adequate planning and time management. Discipline had to come into play for these two things to become a reality. I planned each day such that I knew what I was going to be doing at every point in time. With this, I was able to make every second count. However, I gave room for flexibility. I also cultivated the habit of consulting multiple texts in order to understand concepts better. This helped me to avoid mindless memorisation or “cramming”, as some people call it.
Was there any instance you regretted choosing OAU?
Not at all. OAU has influenced me in several ways. One thing I really cherish about the university, apart from its academic standing, is the opportunity to interact with great minds. I have no regrets. Though public universities in Nigeria have their shortcomings, I believe we can still make the best of them instead of complaining all the time. I believe where you study matters, but what you make out of it matters more.
What factors can you identify to be the cause of your success?
I associated with the right set of people. Your friends and the people you surround yourself with have a great influence on your life whether you admit it or not. They determine how far you can go in life. Iron sharpens iron.
What are the things you did that the majority of your colleagues failed to do?
I have stated some of the things I did but I cannot really say whether the majority of my colleagues did them or not.
How often do you read?
While in school, I used to read for an average of two hours on weekdays and about six to seven hours during the weekends. I understood the concept of short-term and long-term memory early enough. When you read a subject or concept repeatedly as opposed to reading it just once, you understand it better and it goes to your long-term memory over time. So, I read every day so that as a student, I could read each course as many times as possible.
Can you describe your social life while on campus?
Being social means different things to different people. Some people term “partying” as being social. I was not the partying type. Outside academics, I was involved in (Christian) fellowship activities. I related well with my classmates (outside class activities) as well as my fellowship “clique”. I did not attend any party.
What gives you the motivation to study hard?
Two things. First, the desire to achieve nothing short of what I know I have the capability to achieve. Second, the achievements of those ahead of me. Let me give an instance. While I was in secondary school, my immediate elder brother had the best WASSCE result in Ogun State in his set and received an award from the state government. That motivated me to work towards achieving the same result and I eventually emerged with the best WASSCE result in Ogun State in my set as well. Something similar happened while I was in the university. My brother emerged as the best student in his department, so I knew everyone was expecting more from me.
Who is your role model and how did he influence you?
One of my role models is Dr. Abayomi Jiboku, the proprietor of my secondary school – Taidob College. My success story is incomplete without him. The major influence he had on me is that he made me to appreciate the value of hard work. He always made us to understand the importance of integrity and the fact that there is no shortcut to success. The school pledge attests to that : “I pledge not to cheat in any examination, be it internal or external. So help me God.”
My advice to other students is first that they should identify their strengths. Second, they should realise that there is no shortcut to success. Third, they should remain focused at all times and shun distractions. Discipline is required to do this. They should understand that there is an appropriate time for everything and that rest is sweet after labour.

Gabrielle Union speaks on Difficulty of Having a Child: “If It does Happen, it’s a Miracle”

Gabrielle Union - Uptown Magazine - December 2014 - BellaNaija.com 01
Gabrielle Union is rocking the hell out of that Juan Carlos Obando blue silk dress.
The 42 year old actress is the cover star for Uptown Magazine‘s new issue. In it Mrs Dwyane Wade speaks on the difficulty of having kids, her dream role and managing her money.
On having kids: “I think my brain and my heart are screaming baby fever. My ovaries, however, they’re coughing up dust. Yes, it’s in my heart and in my mind, and we’ll see if my body catches up with that.
I have really awesome step kids, so I feel equally as fulfilled. I’ve lasted 42 years without having a human being come from one of my orifices and I feel okay and fulfilled and happy. If it does happen, it’s a miracle—a medical miracle at least. I mean, we’d love to. We’ll see what my ovaries say. Cause right now they’re taking Geritol.”
On being a victim of the nude hack scandal: “I literally heard the day after I got married. It happened after [we had] the most epic discussion with pre-teens and teenagers about Internet safety, social media, being a target and having to be smart. The next day I had to say, ‘Ummm. Of no fault of my own, um, you know, I’m naked on the Internet.'”
On managing her finances: “I live so far below my means that if the career was taken away, I could get a job based on my level of education and my job skills, and I could still afford what I have. I plan ahead for the destruction, my financial ruin. I might borrow some hot shit, but you’re gonna come to my house and be like, ‘What happened to that dope bag that cost as much as a home?’ I borrow that. I give it right back.
I’m not broke, so I don’t have to take any old thing.”

5 Ways To Win An Ex-Girlfriend Back

Have you ever been completely in love with a woman, and then somehow, in some unimaginable way, you lost her? If you really want to reignite an old flame, you must know the right moves to make and the right time to make them. Here are 5 things you can do to maximize your chances.
1. Give her some space
In order to win your ex back, you need to show her a new side of you, or basically the “old you” she once fell in love with. The only way to do this is to give her some space to forget her current assessment of you, let her forget the things that impacted her decision to leave and wipe the slate clean. The amount of time needed will be based on the amount of time the two of you dated, while taking into consideration the events that transpired during the relationship.

2. Communicate with her
If you really want her back, you have to be the man and apologize for what went wrong. If she was hurt by you, she’ll want to stay away from you for fear of getting hurt again. So after some time has passed, man up and apologize in person for what you did to her. Be sincere and tell her you made a mistake. Don’t just say, “I’m sorry for everything.” Instead, apologize for whatever mistakes you made. She will appreciate this, and it will make you seem more self-aware and sincere. If she doesn’t accept your apology right away, she’s probably still working through what happened, but probably still appreciates your effort.
3. Show her how much you’ve changed
Just saying “I’m willing to change” won’t cut it. You’re ex should be able to see how much you’ve changed without you having to say it yourself. If she sees you “trying” or having some sort of agenda to get her back, you’re done! Did she complain that you never listened to her? Then be quiet and reallylisten to what she has to say. Subtly show her the new you, make the effort to cultivate your good qualities, suppress the bad ones, and show her that she’s worth the sacrifice.
4. Tell her how you feel and get the ball rolling
Once she can begin to see that you’re a different person and you start getting one foot back in the door, be honest and share your true feelings. If the relationship ended badly, she’s not going to ask you to start things up again, so you need to get your act together, open up and get the ball rolling. Pick a time when she’s not too busy and you can be alone and tell her that you can’t believe what an idiot you’ve been. Explain to her that she was the best thing that ever happened to you and that you really screwed up. Let her know that you would like to try again, and hopefully you’ll get the answer you were looking for.
5. Take her out and treat her right
If you’re lucky enough to get a second chance, make the most of your time together and treat her right this time! Bring her flowers, take her to a nice restaurant and turn up the romance that was probably missing before. If the date goes well, and if there are more dates to follow, look at it as starting fresh. Remind yourself what happened the last time and vow not to do it again if you really want to stay with this woman. You don’t have to rehash the old relationship, but work on building something completely new and much better.
While these are excellent tips, they are by no means foolproof. Some women think that once they dump you, it’s over and done with. So if she tells you that she’s ready to move on, just accept it, take the lessons that you’ve learned and move on. Meeting new women is a good option that will boost your confidence and could be the pathway to finding the right relationship for you.

“Yes! I am in a relationship with Banky W – Niyola

Speculations and rumours have been flying around like the wind about these two being in a relationship, so Nigeriafilms.com decided to ask her the relationship between she and her boss, Banky W.
Her words:
“Yes! I am in a relationship with him. But the only kind relationship I have with Banky W right now is that he is my boss. There’s nothing more to thatw.”
image
When we pressed further to know what her response would be, if her Banky W wants to go on a date with her.
Niyola said, “I don’t know about that. I can’t say. Until then, I can’t decide for the future. I’m still with EME and no plans of leaving them for now.”
However, the ‘Toh Bad’ crooner doesn’t believe in the term ‘ideal man’, for her, she wants a mature, self-respectful man, who would also be God fearing, good looking and intelligent.
“He must be able to accept me for who I am. Understand me well and my personality,” she stated.
Then why is Niyola still single, you might want to ask? But her response was, “I am very single because I am not ready. It’s my personal decision. When I’m ready, I’ll know but for now, I’m not in any relationship.”
It could be recalled that on her birthday, which held recently, Banky W gave her a pair of Christian Loubotin shoes.
