Tim Cook, who substituted Steve Jobs in 2011 in the position of Apple Inc. CEO, for the first time opened up on his sexuality.
In an essay made public today, October 30, Cook said he is “proud to be gay” calling it “the greatest gift God has given” him.
Explaining why he decided to disclose this private fact of his life,
Apple chief executive said that he believed it might “help someone
struggling to come to terms with who he or she is”.
Cook confessed however that it was not an easy decision for him as he
did not consider himself an activist, but eventually he sacrificed some
of his comfort to inspire those feeling lonely and depressed.
